A familiar landmark on the San Diego Bay skyline, the Manchester
Grand Hyatt San Diego stands as the tallest waterfront hotel on the
West Coast.
Hyatt carefully designed both towers so all 1,625 guest
rooms provide unobstructed views of the bay or city. Guests arrive
to find a dramatic Central Lobby with marble floors, atriums,
towering wood-panel accents, and the cozy new Grand Lobby Bar with
design influences from around the world.
The location along the boardwalk places visitors next door to
picturesque Seaport village and two blocks from the clubs and
restaurants of the Gaslamp Quarter.
Despite San Diego's status as
the sixth largest city in the country, it retains a relaxed beach
town atmosphere - enhanced by attractions like SeaWorld, Balboa
Park,
Legoland, the San Diego Zoo, and year-round golf.
In addition, the hotel rests only 18 boat slips away from the San
Diego
Convention Center - which recently doubled in size itself.
Complementing the center, the hotel now offers San Diego's two
largest
hotel ballrooms at 30,000 and 25,000 square feet.
Additional features of the 125,000 square feet of meeting space
include
a 34,000-square-foot Pavilion for exhibits and banquets and a
25,000-square-foot roof-deck patio for parties and other events
around
the pool. Thirty-six breakout rooms suit groups of every size.
Hyatt's dedication to service and convenience extends to high-speed
Internet connection in the banquet space as well as the guest rooms.
Visitors also appreciate having in-room movies and windows that open
to
breezes off the Pacific. Two-bedroom suites on the top floors add
walk-in closets, whirlpool tubs, mini kitchens, wet bars, and baby
grand pianos. VIPs opting to stay at the Regency Club enjoy deluxe
room
amenities and exclusive access to the Regency Club Lounge.
A new health and fitness center - with great bay views - joined the
newly expanded day spa and beauty salon. An additional spa flanks
the
rooftop pool. Guests at leisure can also rent bikes, take the
hotel's
jogging and biking trail, play tennis, and hit the bay on Jet Skis
or
sailboats.
All six food and beverage outlets take full advantage of the
waterfront
locale. At Sally's, a seafood restaurant on the boardwalk, 17 sets
of
glass doors open to the marina for an unforgettable dining
experience.
Another favorite, Redfield's, entertains as a casual, contemporary
restaurant and sports bar with indoor and outdoor seating.
At Lael's,
open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, the evening themes range from
prime rib to seafood to barbecue buffets.
For guests on the go,
Ann-Marie's Coffee house dispenses Starbucks coffee with baked goods
for breakfast and with soups and sandwiches for lunch.
A further lunchtime option, Top of the Hyatt, rests on the original
tower's fortieth floor. A San Diego landmark, the lounge accompanies
a
light menu with sun-drenched views of Mexico to the south, La Jolla
to
the north, and the Pacific to the west.
As the sun gives way to
night,
locals and visitors meet for cocktails and views of yet another
sparkling version of California's southernmost city by the bay.
